Social media giant Twitter Inc. today announced the appointments of Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to Twitter’s Board of Directors (the “Board”) as new independent directors, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University-trained economist who served as Nigerian minister for finance and Economy was appointed to Twitter board alongside Robert Zoellick.
Twitter’s Lead Independent Director Major Scardino will be stepping down from the Board for personal reasons at the end of the year.
Executive Chairman of Twitter, Omid Kordestani made this known on the platform, he said;
“Ngozi and Bob are distinguished leaders with unparalleled global perspective and policy expertise”.
