The Toronto Raptors secured their first NBA championship Thursday, defeating Golden State Warriors team in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Kyle Lowry had 26 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to lift the Raptors to a thrilling 114-110 victory over the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors on Thursday in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The Warriors played without Kevin Durant, who injured his Achilles tendon in the last series.

“I just kept working hard and had my mind set on this goal here,” Raptors forward and Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard said after the win. “This is what I play basketball for.”

“It’s been a long time coming, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for these guys,” veteran Kyle Lowry added. “Canada, we’ve brought it home, baby!”
