Big Sean has finally released his highly anticipated new project, ‘Detroit 2’. It’s Sean Don season, as the Detroit rapper has blessed us with a 21 track album, clocking roughly above 71 minutes. ‘Detroit 2’ is Big Sean’s first project since 2017’s ‘I Decided’.

Dropping the lead singles ‘Deep Reverence’ featuring the late Nipsey Hussle and ‘Harder Than My Demons’, ‘Detroit 2’ is a reflection of how much he has spent reevaluating his life and being more focused than he has ever been.

In an interview with Vulture, Sean revealed how the pandemic caused his life to shift, saying “my whole life shifted. All our lives shifted.” So this affected the lyrical content of the album and he felt he needed to “progress the album a little bit further”.

‘Detroit 2’ is filled with star studded guest appearances, with the likes of Nipsey Hussle, Post Malone, Jhene Aiko, TY Dolla $ign and more. Sean also gathered some of Detroit’s best artistes on the amazing track ‘Friday Night Cypher’, featuring Eminem, Drego, Sada Baby, Payroll and more.

“I want people to feel the roots of Detroit — the undeniable soul, that unbreakable spirit,” Big Sean said in an interview with the Detroit Free Press. “Detroit gets slept on sometimes, but I don’t think there’s any greater or more impactful city, especially musically throughout the decades. I couldn’t let that die. I had to do my version of the impact all that music had.”
