Lewis Hamilton picked up a fourth win of the 2019 season on Sunday to extend his lead in the driver’s championship to 17 points.

The brit held off the spirited challenge of Max Verstappen to claim a frantic wire-to-wire victory at the Monaco Grand Prix  on a day when the world of Formula One paid tribute to late motorsport icon Niki Lauda.

“That was definitely the hardest race I’ve had but nonetheless I really was fighting with the spirit of Niki [Lauda],” Hamilton said after the race.
