Instagram users woke up to an unusual surprise on their favorite photo-sharing app this morning (Dec. 27), when they realized that they could no longer swipe vertically to get through their feed. Instead, a new horizontal scroll feature was introduced, allowing users to scroll left-to-right to view the photos. Additionally, you were able to simply tap the left or right side of the screen to move between photos, while this new feature was also implemented into Instagram Stories. The new feature appears to have been short-lived, however, as due to an outpour of criticism from its users the new scroll seems to have been rolled back. As of now, Instagram has not made any statements on today’s developments.
