After months of anticipation, Apple finally unveiled the iPhone 12 on Tuesday night. The flagship smartphone was announced during Apple’s ‘Hi, Speed’ event, and was one of four new 5G iPhones for 2020.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said:

The arrival of 5G marks the beginning of a new era for iPhone and we’re thrilled to bring these impressive new capabilities to our customers.

Aside from new smartphones, Apple also introduced a new product for the home, called the HomePod Mini.

The spherical speaker is the successor of the original HomePod, which went on sale in early 2018.

Here’s everything you need to know about the products announced last night, including how much they cost and when you can get your hands on them as reported by The Mirror.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini
The first new iPhones announced during the event were the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini, which both feature 5G.

Both smartphones have identical features, aside from their size. The iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 12 Mini is Apple’s smallest smartphone yet, with a tiny 5.4-inch display.

The smartphones are powered by Apple’s A14 Bionic chip, which is capable of completing 11 trillion operations per second!

In terms of camera, both smartphones feature a new dual-camera system, including a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 12MP wide lens.

Users can choose from five colours – blue, green, black, white and red.

The iPhone 12 is priced £799 and will be available for pre-order from October 16, with availability from October 23.

However, the iPhone 12 Mini is priced at £699 and will be available for pre-order from November 6, before hitting stores from November 13.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
Apple also introduced us to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, which also feature 5G. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch display, while the Pro Max has a whopping 6.7-inch display. The biggest difference compared to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini is the camera system.

Both the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max features an impressive triple-lens camera system, comprising a 12MP Ultra Wide, 12MP Wide and 12MP Telephoto lens.

The Pro Max has an even longer focal length, making it ideal for budding photographers. In terms of colours, users can choose from graphite, silver, gold, or the brand new pacific blue.

The iPhone 12 Pro will retail at £999 and will be available to pre-order from October 16, with availability from October 23.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max will retail at £1,099 and will be available from November 6, with availability from November 13.
