Deontay Wilder knocks out Dominic Breazeale in first round of WBC title fight

Undefeated WBC champion Deontay Wilder defeated mandatory challenger Dominic Breazale in the first round at Just two minutes and 16 seconds after the fight began it was over, as Wilder (41-0-1, 40 KO) landed a bomb of a right hand to knock out Breazeale (20-2), who tried to get to his feet but couldn’t beat referee Harvey Dock’s 10 count.

Wilder hurt Breazeale with a right to the head early in their fight at Barclays Center, but the challenger had recovered from that early onslaught. But there was no coming back from the right later in the round that immediately dropped Breazeale.
