Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has passed the $2 billion mark at the global box office.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third Avengers film, and the 19th film in the MCU, eked passed the $2 billion mark on Monday. This makes it the third-highest grossing film internationally, and the fifth-biggest stateside.
It’s only the fourth movie to ever achieve such a feat, joining 2009’s Avatar, 1997’s Titanic, and 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. (Avatar remains the all-time global champ, with $2.79 billion in grosses.) What sets Infinity War apart, however, is the fact it was released in April, giving an early jump-start to the summer movie season. The other three films came out during December, when studios tend to release their prestige films in time to qualify for Oscar consideration.
